Hegel and the Phenomenological Movement – International Conference

Pisa, 10 -13 June 2014

Program

Poster

Aula “Gaetano Savi”, via Porta Buozzi 3.

Hegel’s philosophy has been crucial for the 20th century philosophy. Despite the growing interest that has accompanied the renaissance of Hegel studies among analytic philosophers, the role that Hegel’s thought has played in contemporary phenomenology remains to be investigated.
The conference explored the philosophical encounters between Hegel and many representative thinkers of the 20th century such as Husserl, Heidegger, Fink, Sartre, Merleau-Ponty, Levinas, Ricoeur and many others. Topics also covered the criticisms made by relevant authors (i.e. Heidegger, Adorno, Derrida, Sellars) to the phenomenological movement itself.

Supervisor: Prof. Alfredo Ferrarin.

Organizer: Zetesis Research Group in Classical German Philosophy and Phenomenology
